It was REALLY hard to find a hotel that wasn’t booked. I was able to get this booked for coaches/players at Western Rugby rate ($89) – but I took all the booked rooms and they wouldn’t allow parents to have this rate anyway. The are other rooms available, but not at the special rate, the regular rate is $159/night.
There is a café of sorts connected and they will have hot breakfast available (potatoes, eggs, bacon – no pancakes) – but we pay for breakfast. Starting at 6:30 in the morning – I’ve warned them we are coming.

Our first match is against Kansas City at 12:00 on Saturday
Sunday our match will be at 9:30 or 11 – depending on how we’ve done so far. Against Katy or Jenks, OK, depending on what their outcome on Saturday.

NOTE: THEY DO NOT ALLOW METAL CLEATS ON THIS FIELD – this is an artificial surface and the city of Fort Worth does not allow use of metal cleats. All players must either wear molded soccer-style cleats or replace metal spikes w/ screw-in plastic spikes

The Ladies won the crown this weekend in Austin at the State Rugby Tournament. It is the first State Championship by the Woodlands Girls Varsity Team.

Girls between the ages of 14 and 19 who would not have the opportunity to attend camp due to financial reasons

Parent meeting at end of practice to discuss state tournament this weekend. Parent attendance is strongly encouraged, please.

I need to know if you have transportation there or will need a ride – as well, if your parent is going, do they have an SUV they can drive and commit to taking (and keeping up with) the girls they take?.

As they do not play on Sunday, they can leave after their match Saturday afternoon. The boys will play Sunday either at 10 am or 2:30 pm depending on whether they win or lose Saturday. If the ladies want to stay in Austin Saturday night, they are welcome to do so, but this will be on their own as far as keeping up with each other, parents and costs etc. Parents need to be aware of this so there is no confusion.

If you or your parents have any questions, please let me know and I will do my best to answer.  I obtained these e-mails from an older roster I had, but it did not have e-mails on it for Hannah or Abby – if you could pass along I would appreciate it.

I will also be sending along information soon about needing volunteers for the U11/U13/U15, U U17 playoffs being held May 8^th at The Woodlands HS.  Because the Club is picking up a majority of the costs for the Austin playoffs for the girls and varsity teams, we need a big volunteer turnout from these groups for the tournament on May 8^th.

Bobby/Greg – I wasn’t sure if Kelcie and Emily were planning to attend this weekend or not – if you could please just let me know.
